With the retirement of the Space Shuttle, a whole new crop of commercial ventures has emerged. They include Blue Origin, SpaceX, Orbital Sciences, Virgin Galactic, and others. The race is on to deliver communication satellites, Department of Defense payloads, and qualify hardware to return astronauts to the Moon and onward to Mars.
